For us, it starts with a few decisions: which fabric to use, who makes our swimwear, and how much to produce.
We design in Milan and make small runs in the same workshop near the city that sewed our first samples. Pieces to keep wearing, without starting over every season.
How our swimwear is made
We use Vita by Carvico, made from 78% ECONYL® regenerated nylon and 22% elastane.
ECONYL® nylon is regenerated from waste, including discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic. The regeneration process turns these materials into new nylon yarn.
The fabric is OEKO-TEX® certified and tested for harmful substances.
All Masarà swimwear is cut and sewn near Milan, Italy.
Working with a nearby workshop means we can follow production closely, speak directly with the people making each piece, and refine the details from the first sample to the finished swimsuit.
We produce in small quantities. Some colours come back. Some do not.
Our hangtags are made from Alga Carta, a paper made in part with algae. Our stickers are printed on recycled paper.
We keep the rest of our packaging minimal, using FSC®-certified paper, recyclable VELA paper bags and recycled paper tape.
Each choice is part of how we make Masarà, even the things you don’t wear.
