Most of the messages I get aren't about colour. They're about one thing: will it fit me? Behind that question there is usually a more specific worry, one that's hard to put into words. So here they are, named one by one, with the answer and a real example from the messages I receive. By the end, the only thing left to choose is the colour.
In short
- Choose by your body measurements, not by the size on your labels.
- Top and bottom are sold separately, so they can be two different sizes.
- One-pieces: if your bust and hips fall in two sizes, take the larger.
- 175 cm or taller, or a long torso: one size up in any one-piece.
- Every piece is opaque, wet or dry.
- 30 days to return or exchange.
"I'm never sure which size to take"
The worry: spending money on a swimsuit that arrives and doesn't fit, and having to start again.
The answer: you won't be guessing. The same woman can wear three different numbers in Milan, Sydney and New York, and every brand cuts its own way, so the labels in your wardrobe say very little. Our sizes are built on body measurements instead: bust, waist and hips, two minutes with a tape measure, in centimetres or inches, and the size guide does the rest.
An example: a woman wrote to me with hips of 94 cm, or 37 inches. That's an M in our bottoms, whatever she usually buys elsewhere.
"My top and bottom aren't the same size"
The worry: buying a set that fits one half of you and not the other.
The answer: you never have to compromise. Most women aren't the same size top and bottom, and that's exactly why ours are sold separately. Each piece is chosen for the part of the body it has to fit.
An example: a woman with an A cup who usually wears a 42 on the bottom asked me which sizes to take. My answer: the Coco top in S, the bottom in M.
"Does the Coco top have padding?"
The worry: feeling exposed, or not held, without it.
The answer: the Coco top has no padding and no wire, and it doesn't need them. It looks like a triangle but it's built like a bra: nothing around your neck, a tie at the back that you close as firmly as you like, and straps that slide along the tie so they sit exactly where you want them. The support comes from the cut, not from the foam.
An example: tighten the back tie a little and the top sits closer and holds more. Loosen it for a softer feel on the beach.
"The Niki looks low cut, and I have a small bust"
The worry: a neckline that gapes and shows more than you want.
The answer: it doesn't gape. The Niki is a second skin: it follows the body closely, so the neckline stays against you whatever your bust, and the straps are fixed in length, so nothing shifts when you move.
An example: a woman wrote to me: 1.70 m tall, almost no bust, usually a small size. My answer: the Niki in S, her usual size.
"I'm tall"
The worry: a one-piece that's too short in the body and pulls at the shoulders.
The answer: one simple rule. If you're 175 cm or taller, around 5 feet 9, or your torso is long for your height, take one size up in any one-piece. Below that, your usual size gives you the full length.
An example: at 1.70 m, your usual size is the right one. At 1.78 m, go one size up.
"I don't want it to pull"
The worry: feeling squeezed, and spending the day adjusting it.
The answer: our fabric sits halfway between soft and sculpting: it holds you without compressing you. The Niki fits close, the way a good bodysuit does, and never tight. The only time it could pull is when your bust and hips fall in two different sizes, and the answer is to take the larger of the two.
An example: bust in S and hips in M? Take the Niki in M.
"I don't want it to mark my hips"
The worry: an elastic that digs in and makes you feel self-conscious.
The answer: in the right size, it doesn't dig in. The elastic is sewn inside, so every edge lies flat against the skin and never rolls or cuts in, whatever your shape. Most marks come from choosing a size by habit, so choose by your hip measurement instead.
An example: the woman with 94 cm hips was worried about exactly this. My answer: the M, chosen by her measurement, not by habit.
"Will it show through when it's wet?"
The worry: an embarrassing moment coming out of the water.
The answer: nothing shows. Every piece is opaque, wet or dry.
"And if it doesn't fit, or my size is sold out?"
The worry: being stuck with the wrong thing, or missing out.
The answer: you have 30 days to return or exchange it, and in Italy returns are free. If the size or colour you want has sold out, write to me: some colours won't come back, but I'll tell you which colour of the palette comes closest.
An example: if the Coco top you want has sold out in your size, the same shape often exists in another colour of the palette, and I'll tell you which one.
Still unsure?
Send me your measurements on WhatsApp and I'll tell you which size to take. I answer these messages myself, because nobody knows how our pieces fit better than the person who designed them.
